Shampoo Or Oil – Which One Is Better For Your Hair?

Almost all human beings, irrespective of whether they live in urban or rural areas, use something to take care of their hairs. Hairs have been a matter of great concern for everyone, irrespective of they are males, females or otherwise.

Care for hairs and stunning hairstyles have been a matter of great pride for women. From the great Egyptian princess Cleopatra to modern day glamour queens and fashion models, hair has been a matter of concern for all of them. Not only are the personalities associated with the glamour world extremely cautious about how they appear, but also the homemakers and professionals belonging to other walks of life follow the trends set by celebrities.

The case is same for the males, who are equally interested in their stylish hairs that make them look good, smart and presentable. They also follow male models and style icons, who are often celebrities belonging to the glamour world or the sports world. Just like women, they also take professional help to style their hairs, although not as much as women does, when the global scenario is taken into consideration.

Due to huge difference in the styles of the two genders, often males and females use different type of hair care products. Some of the most common products for hair care are shampoos, oils, creams and dyes. However, the nature and quality of the hairs of males and females, along with the scalp and lifestyle conditions, can be pretty different for the two genders. Quite naturally, the hair care products also vary vastly in constituting materials and retail costs.

However, among the basic hair care products mentioned above, shampoos and oils are the most common and extensively used hair care products. Oils and shampoos are used by both men and women, regardless of age, society, and financial status. In fact, these two have emerged as the basic requirement for taking care of hairs on a regular basis, accompanied by occasional use of visits to salons and spas.

Oils are mainly used to nourish hair and scalp from the root of the hairs. It retains the moisture in the scalp and keeps the surface temperature cool. It is also said that oils are helpful in maintaining a long and strong hair, reduce hair fall and work better than most hair and beauty products available in the market. The quality and cost of the hair oils varies according to the ingredients from which it is made, and also on the amount of money that the manufacturer spends on packaging and marketing it. However, oils are sticky in nature and can cause dandruff to grow and stay on the scalp, besides causing many other problems.

On the other hand, shampoos are mainly used for maintaining a clean, shiny, glossy, smooth, glowing, light and bouncy hair. But do not be biased by the number of adjectives used here. This is, in fact, the most common trick adopted by most shampoo manufacturers and marketers selling shampoos to the common public. You will also often notice a beauty product supplier endorsing and pushing shampoos instead of oil, because shampoos offer greater monetary incentives than the oils. Although most of the claims made by the shampoo manufacturers are partially true, the major drawback of shampoos is that it can alter the color of hair after prolonged use, along with the fact that shampoos makes hairs dry and the scalp rough.
